Stephen Schofield was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1952. He lives and works in Montreal, Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 1970, Stephen Schofield has presented his drawings, sculptures and performances in various national institutions : the Power Plant in Toronto (1994), the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in Lethbridge ( 1994), The National Gallery (1996), the Montreal Biennale (1998), the Toronto Sculpture Garden (2002), the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art (1983, 1994, 2003), as well as several exhibitions outside of Canada, at the Sculpture Center, White Columns, the Horodner Romley Gallery and the John Weber Gallery, in New York. In 2012, his solo exhibition at the CUE Foundation in New York was accompanied by a catalogue and an artist’s book.In 1996, his exhibition Si je peux le dire ainsi<\/em> was presented at the CR\u00c9DAC, CAC de Vassivi\u00e8res and l’Aquarium (Valenciennes) France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen Schofield’s work is part of public, corporate and private collections in Canada, France and the United States. His work is part of the collections of several major museums including the National Gallery of Canada, the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as the Mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts du Qu\u00e9bec. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen Schofield is the recipient of the Louis-Comtois Prize of the city of Montreal and of the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries, in 2004. In 2008 he was awarded the Canadian studio at the ISCP (International Studio and Curatorial Program) residency in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
