LES SPHÈRES 1980 | Swimming choreography, Campbellford, Ontario, Canada This is a performance that begins simply with spheres of leather hard clay, that is, rigid, but still humid clay. The twelve swimmers undertake different actions with the spheres, each gesture pushes the thin wall of clay towards its limit of resistance as the wall becomes thinner and thinner. At the end, the spheres are thrown into the air and break on the water surface to melt to the bottom of the river. photos © Loren May
